Major George E. Pickett was from a Virginia family that came to the Colony in 1635. George was a friendly and brave man who made the decision to attend West Point Military Academy, later graduating last with the class of 1846, but with George B. McClellan and Thomas J. Jackson. Due to George’s academic standings at his graduation, he was placed in the infantry and became an army officer, who received two brevets in the Mexican War with officers that he would later have to fight against. When the 9th U. S. Infantry was established, Pickett was soon promoted to Captain stationed within Washington Territory. He and 68 of his men went against hundreds of British troops, giving him a victory in what is known in history as â€Å"the Pig War†. After serving 15 long years in the United States army, Pickett was assigned as a brigadier general for the CSA in January 14, 1862. When the Seven Days Campaign began, he injured himself while serving with his command during the Battle of Gaines Mill. These pheromones are not only valuable for marking territories and leaving traces for other animals to find but it is also quite significant for humans. While human pheromones are not yet exactly identified, subconsciously, people can guess at the origin of a certain scent.This is particularly obvious when it concerns mother and child. It may be attributed to the fact that they spent nine months attached to each other that they have established such a strong bond. But smell is something that pretty resembles a fingerprint. And this certain â€Å"print† is what attract babies to their mothers and vice versa.Men, on the other hand, naturally find a female at certain points of their life. Having a woman or being involved with a woman perhaps increases or intensifies the effects of pheromones that it increases the production of hormones, in effect having the facial hairs grow more rapidly than usual.

Windows has become a household name. The company logo is familiar to almost everyone across the world. This revolutionary company has played a major role in the current technology explosion. Windows was one of the first affordable operating systems that enabled computers to be more widely available. Many changes and updates have been made to the Windows operating system to keep Microsoft at the top of its market. The history of Windows dates back to 1975 when Bill Gates and Paul Allen founded a partnership called Microsoft. They had a monumental vision that there would be a computer on every desktop and in every home (Microsoft, Era 0, para 2). Microsoft rewrote a previously purchased operating system to support subdirectories and hard disks naming it MS-DOS (Software Gems, para 3-5). This is short for Microsoft Disk Operating System. MS-DOS was an effective foundation that ran the personal computer. However, it was difficult for users to master. Specific commands required memorization. To combat the frustration caused by MS-DOS, Microsoft released Windows 1.0 in 1983. Windows 1.0 was introduced as â€Å"unique software designed for the serious PC user† (Microsoft, Era 1, para 2) by Bill Gates. Windows 1.0 enabled users to maneuver a mouse to point and click versus typing in difficult to remember commands. This was not, however, the first operating system to use the point and click technology.
